The Radium Drive-In Theatre, to the northwest of downtown Radium, was started in 1957 by Mr. and Mrs. Steve Capowski, Duncan McIntosh (who had owned the Bow Theatre in Calgary from 1950 to 1952) and a partner from Edmonton, Alberta. In 1959, the Capowskis became the sole owners.
On May 16, 1960, Radium Drive-In Theatre Ltd. bought Toby Theatre Ltd. of Invermere
